Dutch Physical Therapy was established in 1994 by owners Philippe Veeters and Mirjam Maassen. Both Philippe and Mirjam are natives of the Netherlands, hence the name “Dutch” Physical Therapy. Since being established, we have grown to three locations to serve the Greater Baton Rouge Area, with our newest location in Denham Springs.
Dutch Physical Therapy specializes in disc related problems of the Spine. We can help you to improve and prevent posture related conditions such as scoliosis and kyphosis. We work with nerve pain and other related conditions of the nervous system. Our therapists are also specialized in treating sports related injuries; particularly tennis, golf, soccer, skiing, football, and baseball. In addition, we provide rehabilitation for neurological disorders such as CVA, neuropathy, and Bells Palsy. Our therapy will also work to ease chronic pain and alleviate tension headaches.
“We are an ‘Individualized Physical Therapy’ clinic, which means that you will come in and work one on one with our physical therapist,” founder Mirjam Maassen said. “We do not use techs or assistants, strictly you and the physical therapist. Although the localization of symptoms might be the same for everyone, we develop Patient Specific Treatment plans, as every patient is different and individual.”
